  3. The City of Lebanon was originally incorporated in 1801 and is located approximately 25 miles east of downtown Nashville in what is commonly referred to as the Middle-Tennessee area. It is the county seat of Wilson County and was named after the biblical cedars of Lebanon of which a state park of the same name can be found just south of the city limits. Lebanon is the corporate home of Cracker Barrel, Performance Food Group, and Lochinvar as well as Cumberland University. The city has a total area of approximately 39.53 square miles.


    The Lebanon Police Department has been protecting the community for over two hundred years and was founded on May 2, 1819. In July of 2020 the department moved to its new location, the CL Manier Police Facility, at 1017 Sparta Pike Lebanon, TN, 37087 allowing all divisions to reside at the same location.


    Chief Mike Justice commands the department of almost 200 employees. The department is comprised of 4 major divisions; Patrol, Special Operations, Criminal Investigations, and Administrative Services. The department is certified and accredited through Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation (TLEA).
