Dispatch is on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They handle all incoming emergency and non-emergency calls within the City of Lebanon, for police, fire, and after-hours public works. Dispatchers monitor 2 emergency lines, 2 non-emergency lines, 9 land lines, 4 police channels, and 6 fire channels. We maintain a full staff of 20 dispatchers total, with 4/5 on a rotating shift at a time. Dispatchers complete a Public Safety Communications Course, as well as obtain a CPR certification within the first year of hire. Aside from daily responsibilities, dispatchers also participate in Emergency Coordination activities such as inclement weather, fair operations, and other incidents where a temporary emergency response may be needed
